Dear Elliott,

As the holidays approach, I find myself reflecting on the past year and everything we’ve been through—both the challenges and the celebrations. It’s been quite a journey, and now, as we close out the year, I want to take a moment to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Any advice on how to embrace the spirit of the holidays, despite the hustle and bustle?

Sincerely,

-Holiday Spirit Seeker

Dear Holiday Spirit Seeker,

The holiday season is a time to pause, reflect, and connect with the people and traditions that bring us joy. Amid the hustle, the gift lists, and the busy schedules, the real magic of the holidays comes from slowing down to appreciate the moments that matter.

Here’s how you can embrace the spirit of the season:

1. Make Time for Gratitude

The holidays offer a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what we’re grateful for. Whether it’s loved ones, personal growth, or simple joys, take time to acknowledge those things. Gratitude helps us see the beauty in what we already have and can bring a sense of peace and fulfillment.

2. Celebrate Togetherness

Whether you're gathering in person or virtually, this season is all about connection. Reach out to those who matter most—family, friends, colleagues—and spend time together. Even a simple phone call or message can brighten someone’s day. The holidays remind us that our bonds are what truly make life special.

3. Find Joy in Giving

The best gifts don’t always come wrapped in shiny paper. Acts of kindness, time spent together, and thoughtful gestures often mean the most. This season, think about how you can give beyond material items—whether it’s helping someone in need, supporting a cause you care about, or simply spreading joy in your own unique way.

4. Take a Moment for Yourself

Amid the celebrations, don’t forget to take time for yourself. The holidays can sometimes feel overwhelming, so carve out a little space to relax, reflect, and recharge. Whether it’s a quiet walk, reading a book, or sipping hot cocoa by the fire, these moments of stillness are just as important.

As we enter this holiday season, my wish for you is to find peace, joy, and connection in whatever form feels most meaningful to you. Whether you’re celebrating with family traditions, creating new ones, or simply taking time to rest, I hope your holidays are filled with love and happiness.

From all of us at Break the Norm Leadership, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a bright new year ahead!
